One-day two-member team competition in ski orienteering with a fixed time limit.

Accommodation

The organizer provides for accommodation in a school gym the night before the competition, the price is 120 CZK / night. Own sleeping bags required. Or in beds, the price is 190 CZK / night. Accommodation shall be booked in the entry form.

The gym will be available to all the athletes from Saturday (16.00) till Sunday (09.00).

Address: Both the gym and the beds are in the school Stredni Odborna Skola in Petrovice, by the road from Petrovice to Slavkovice, approx. 3 km away from Nove Mesto na Morave.

Entries

Entries for foreign participants shall be submitted via email () or via the the registration page (in Czech). The registration shall include the following data:

  • Team name
  • Contact phone
  • Contact email
  • Category – (list of all categories is included in the Bulletin).
  • SI card number (when using your own SI) / or requirement for renting of an SI card.
  • Competitor 1:
    • Surname (1)
    • Name (1)
    • Date of birth (1)
    • Order of the official accommodation as described in the Bulletin - YES/NO and BEDS/GYM
  • Competitor 2:
    • Surname (2)
    • Name (2)
    • Date of birth (2)
    • Order of the official accommodation as described in the Bulletin - YES/NO and BEDS/GYM

By sending their registration participants confirm that they have read and understood the competition rules and guidelines as they were stated in the Bulletin.

The registration is taken valid only after it has been confirmed by the organizer via email.

The maximum overall number of teams who can register for the race is 500.

In case the event gets cancelled due to unfavourable snow conditions, foreign participants will be informed via email. If the team fails to participate, the starting fee will not be returned.

You can cancel your registration for the event via email at by 22nd January 2009.

Starting fee

  • The starting fee is 500 CZK per team - applies for the entries received by 1st December 2008; 600 CZK per team - applies for the entries received by 10th February 2009 and 850 CZK for entries received after the 10th February.
  • Accommodation (60 or 220 CZK) and renting of SI card (50 CZK) shall also be reserved and paid for together with the entry fee!

Payments

Payments for starting fees, rental fee for SI cards and accommodation for foreign participants shall be payable on Saturday 21st February 2009 at the registration in the event office.

  • MM – team man+man
  • DD - team woman+woman
  • MD - team man+woman

 

  • MMV - team man+man (masters, the total age of the team is over 80 years)
  • DDV - team woman+woman (masters, the total age of the team is over 80 years)
  • MDV - team man+woman (masters, the total age of the team is over 80 years)

 

  • RD – parents with children of 12 years of age and younger. Does not have to be a team of two. Minimum team composition: 1 adult + 1 child. Maximum number of adults in the team is 2. The number of children in the team is unlimited.


Teams registered in categories MM, DD, MD and RD shall contain at least one adult older than 18 years of age!

Registration

Registration for the race will be open between 16.00 – 22.00 at the Event Centre on Saturday. Between 07.00 – 08.00 at the Event Centre on Sunday.
Competitors who will spend the night in the official accommodation provided by the organizer shall make their registration on Saturday. Get accommodated without valid registration and valid accommodation voucher will not be possible. Making additional changes in the entries will be possible only on Saturday!

Renting of SI cards

Teams who order renting of SI cards in their entries will be able to collect those at the registration in the Event Centre. Rental fee for the SI card (50 CZK) shall be paid together with the entry fee. 700 CZK will be charged for lost or unreturned SI cards.

Start

First teams will start at 9:00. The start will be performed in “waves” which will have 5-minute interval between them. The start list will be published in the week before the event at www.ski-adventure.cz.

Time limit

The length of the courses is given by the time limit, which is the same to all the categories – 5 hours.

Map

Winter hiking map in Scale 1:50 000 with a marked network of ski tracks, specially prepared for the event.

Competition maps will be handed out in the Event Centre at the registration. Each team will receive two maps with all controls printed on them. The points will not be assigned to the controls.

Electronic punching system

Electronic punching system Sport Ident will be used to mark the passage of the teams through the check-points.

This system will provide for subsequent tracking of passage times at the controls as well as for calculation of total amount of points scored.

Refreshment

On course refreshment will not be provided by the organizer.
All participants will receive hot food and drinks after they finish the race.

Competition rules

  • All teams will receive two maps with controls printed on them before the start.
  • After the start (in the racing time already) the team will be given score values to all the controls.
  • The main goal for the race is to collect as many points as possible and get back in the finish within the 5 hour time limit. Any extra minutes on the course will be penalized by deduction of points from the total score. The exact penalization rules will be published in the final competition guidelines.
  • Passage through the controls is marked with the SI card.
  • Course selection is totally optional and depends on the team tactics and its strength.
  • Each team shall visit all the controls together and shall stay together (within earshot) for the whole racing time.
  • Using help by a third person during the competition is strictly prohibited.
  • The organisers shall not be held responsible for the health condition of the participants as well as for the technical condition of their racing equipment.
  • With submitting the registration, all competitors agree that they will compete in the race at their own risk.

General rules

  • All participants shall respect the rules for activities in the Nature protected areas on the territory of the Czech Republic, as well as to respect the common rules for outdoor activities.
  • Obey the traffic rules when crossing the roads.
  • Athletes accommodated in the gym shall obey the rules by the owner of the building (namely those which concern waxing, cooking, etc.)
